Interviewer:
You have quite an interesting legacy in this whole LGBT-ness in television…

Gale: Hmm I get to use the letter G.

Interviewer: Looking back at when QaF was actually in production, did you think about the impact it was having on the audience at the time?

Gale: Not in a way that would be relevant to the answer to this question. I think I was a little bit overwhelmed by everything at the time, I was just trying to stay upright and get the work done and not make a fool of myself and not do a disservice to the people that I was trying to represent, that’s really all I cared about. I sorta had to get out of that space and take a little while beyond it to appreciate it more. No, at the time I didn’t appreciate it for what it was going to mean, or what it could possibly mean, it has come to me now because (then) I had too much going on.

Interviewer: I know you still hear from all those fans, and I know there’s still reunions and people trying to get you guys back together. Is that right? Is there a different fangroup and things like that?

Gale: A few, yeah, I think so, yeah.

Interviewer: Awesome. What are you working on now so people know what you’re up to?

Gale: At the moment I’m working on my own stuff and possibly going forward with a film, maybe by the end of the year/beginning of next year and it’s… for those who know about me they probably know what I’m talking about but I’m gonna keep it a little bit caged at the moment ‘cause that’s how I like to do it. Other than that… talking to you *smiles*

Interviewer: When was the last time you saw any episode of QaF?

Gale: The last time that I saw an episode… I haven’t seen an entire episode for a long time. I think I saw a pass-by episode, something on Logo like a re-air… no sorry, on Netflix… hope so… maybe?

Interviewer: I know Showtime was re-airing the series this past summer…

Gale: Yeah, sorry not Netflix it was Showtime, yeah. Sorry, I’ve been watching so much Netflix lately… there you go, Netflix! All for free! *smiles at the camera* “Peaky Blinders”… anyway, uhm, yeah I can’t remember exactly. I saw a quick pan out of a scene, I can’t remember exactly what the scene was, I just saw a face that I recognized, like I was looking in a mirror and then *snaps fingers* it was gone…

Gale: I think because they’re skilled, and because they’re committed and they’re good. When it comes down to it at the end of the day, I think we all know that there are people who have been prevented from doing the work they love because of reasons that had nothing to do with the work itself.
