and Mei open up the coffin pulled from the reservoir. It is empty except for an earring, which is the same one on the mayor’s wife when her body was found. There are scratch marks on the casket. The woman was alive when she was locked in there. She must have drowned inside the casket after her husband approved the reservoir. Kelton thinks someone is trying to convince them to connect this death to Sara's disappearance.
Tyner questions why Ben was shipped to the federal detention center. Kelton says he didn’t authorize that. Kelton goes to the prison, and he is surprised to see his own signature on the transfer order. In the lockup, Julian lunges at Ben with the shank but Ben fights him off. Kelton rushes to the cell and shoots Julian before he can stab Ben. Kelton saves Ben’s life.
Marcy and Max visit their father at the hospital. J.T brings news that Ben was injured in the holding cell and is being transferred for his safety. J.T. says that the Supreme Court confirmation hearings will resume and Jeffrey can be released that day.
Ben explains to Kelton that he didn’t know the guy who jumped him. He learns that his court appointed attorney was a fake. It was someone planted to find out what Ben knew. Ben says that he told the lawyer about Quinn paying him to deliver money.
Kelton, Mei and Tyner raid Quinn’s house but she is gone. They find a trap door on the floor that leads to a set of stairs. While the teams go into the underground tunnels, Kelton takes to the skies in a police helicopter and scans the underground with a thermal-eye digital camera. He leads the team to two bodies, but it is maintenance workers who saw a woman come through. Kelton spots Quinn come out of the aqueduct run off. Police cars surround her.
Jeffrey returns home to find that Jessica is tending to her children. She went on his computer and found out that he faked the heart attack. Then Jessica told Marcy and Max of his lie. She wants to move in with the kids, and promises not to reveal his secret about his health incident to the press.
Peter Manning’s video tape is stolen from his truck. He accuses Judy of taking it but she tells him that her dub was erased too. Judy convinces him to do an on-camera interview about his relationship with “Nicky.” Jeffrey watches the interview on television, and remembers an incident on his honeymoon when a stranger approached Sara and called her Nicky.
Quinn tells Kelton that Ben is an addict and a liar. Kelton notices a tattoo on her wrist and Quinn quickly hides it under her sleeve. She refuses to divulge anything else.
The techies find a live video streaming into Quinn’s laptop. It is showing a bunker that has Sara imprisoned in it. She is alive and shackled to the floor. The FBI tries to locate where the feed is coming from.
Jeffrey attempts to explain to Max why he lied to him about his heart attack, but Max is angry. Jeffrey gets a call from Kelton, who says he has credible information that Sara is alive. Kelton cannot say more. Jessica advises Jeffrey to discredit Peter Manning and defend Sara’s reputation. Jeffrey agrees that he needs to be ahead of the story, and he asks J.T. to set up a secret meeting with Peter.
Quinn makes her one prison phone call to the press. Her tattoo is found on the database as the same one worn by four convicts -- all of whom are dead.
Jeffrey remembers a night when he woke to find Sara dancing seductively by herself. He tried to goad her into returning to bed. “Who’s Sara?” she asked.
Marcy asks her father to get the FBI to let her see Ben. Jeffrey says that he made the call, but Ben did not want to see her. Marcy refuses to believe him.
Quinn is transported by marshals to holding. She steals a pen from a desk and uses it to write something on her hand. The reporters film Quinn being driven out, and she waves to the cameras. Kelton asks Judy to borrow her footage. He sees a bunch of symbols written on Quinn’s palm. Quinn called the media in order to send a signal.
Peter Manning comes to the Collins home with Judy Nash. J.T. confirms that Jeffrey will give her an exclusive statement if she keeps this meeting a secret. Jeffrey is insistent to Peter that Sara is not “Nicky.” Peter describes a scar on Nicky’s hand. Jeffrey gives away nothing.
The FBI matches Quinn’s mysterious hand symbols to a Masonic code. It reads “pull the plug.” The video feed to Sara’s bunker is cut off.
Jeffrey tells J.T. that Peter knew about Sara’s scar. J.T. tries to convince him that Sara’s past means nothing. Her kidnapping is about getting him to confirm Judge Rainer.
Robert Rubia calls a man named Morell to report that the FBI found the video feed. “I’m taking care of it,” Morell assures him. Morell is in the middle of digging a grave at a cemetery.
