The secret circle (2011)

Adam is worried about Cassie: lately everything she does seems to be the result of Jake’s influence on her and she’s constantly put at risk by it. Adam wants to help her find out if her father’s still alive, but he also wants them to be careful.

Faye thinks she knows what Jake will do: now that he knows that the Hunters are responsible for his parents’ death, he will try to get revenge.

Cassie receives an unexpected visit from Lucy Gibbons, a psychic who was helping the parent’s Circle, and Lucy tells her that John Blackwell was a hero the night of the fire. Lucy says she saw and recognized Cassie while the girl was trapped in Jake’s memories of that night, and she says she came into town to warn Cassie about the Hunters.

Charles goes to Dawn’s house and he’s angry because the woman left the crystal in the hands of the town’s drunk only because she didn’t want Charles to have power. Now Charles wants the crystal back, and he says he won’t allow Dawn to interfere with his plans again.

Ethan asks Diana to help him prepare a surprise birthday party for Adam, but Adam listens to their plans and that ruins the surprise.

Cassie believes that taking control of the medallion would allow the Circle the power they need to stop the Hunters, but she can’t remember the spell her father used to activate it on the night of the fire. Jake advices her to align the symbol on the medallion with the one that’s drawn on the ceiling of the abandoned house basement, but when Cassie does that she suddenly feels paralized while the house trembles dangerously. Luckily, Jake pushes Cassie on the floor breaking the spell. Adam gets angry when he sees the two of them lying together on the floor and, even after Cassie tells him what Lucy said, he still believes the Circle is strong enough to fight the Hunters and they don’t need the medallion.

Lucy tells Cassie and Jake that, to activate the medallion, a bound Circle needs to perform a ritual, and she offers them her help. After that, Dawn goes to see Lucy and accuses her to be responsible for John Blackwell’s death because she didn’t protect him by telling him that the Hunters were coming. Dawn also threatens Lucy because she wants her help to locate all the crystals.

Cassie can’t find the medallion anymore and she believes it’s been taken by Adam since the boy was the only one who knew where she had hidden it.

At the party Melissa tries the "Devil’s spirit", but the drug isn’t enough so Faye calls Callum again.

Charles speaks with Ethan and tells him that his mother’s visit helped him understand that he was making the wrong choices lately; of course, it’s all part of Charles’ plan to convince Ethan to trust him and, as soon as the man turns away, Charles drugs his coffee.

Cassie asks Adam about the medallion, and the boy confesses he had taken it because he was worried for Cassie. Cassie firmly believes that the medallion, once the ritual will reactivate its energy, it’s their only chance to become more powerful, and she tells Adam that she believes he’s just jealous of Jake.

Callum goes to the party to bring the drug to Faye and, after he sees Melissa, he doesn’t want to go away, so Jake intervenes and forces him to leave the Boathouse.

Adam gives the medallion back to Cassie, but insists on saying that Jake is not to be trusted: until not too long before, in fact, Jake was working with the Hunters. Cassie talks to Jake about that and, when he doesn’t have an answer, she understands that Adam’s right.

Lucy should be helping Dawn look for the crystals, but she betrays her and plants a knife in her belly. Lucy’s real plan is to bring back the Hunters in town and, after she’ll trick the Circle with the ritual she’s convinced them to perform, she’ll strip them of their powers.

After drinking his drugged coffee, Ethan falls asleep and Charles steals the crystal.

The Circle agrees to perform the ritual and they all meet Lucy in the woods near the abandoned house, but after the ritual starts Melissa realizes she’s feeling what she felt when Faye took away her powers at the Fire/Ice ball: this time it’s the medallion that’s stealing their powers, just as it did with hundreds of other witches. Cassie finally remembers the spell her father cast sixteen years before when he used the medallion and she uses it to stop Lucy. The woman says she had to do what she did because the Hunters had threatened her, and she reveals that John Blackwell is still alive but no one knows where he is.

Charles sees Dawn dying on the floor and he saves her life using the crystal.

Jake tells Cassie he wants to help her find her father, but the girl refuses.

Melissa consumed all the Devil’s Spirit she had and so she goes to see Callum again.

Jake asks Faye to go to his house and, when she arrives, he kisses her passionately.

Eben is angry with Lucy because she didn’t succeed in bringing him the medallion thus leaving a door open for John Blackwell’s return. He kills Lucy.
