Cassie is convinced she was the one who killed Luke with the spell since the iron ring was freezing everyone else’s power, so she calls all the other members of the circle to try and understand what the paper Calvin left her is about. Among a few unintelligible symbols, the guys find the initials J.B. and they think about Cassie’s grandmother’s name but, when they can’t reach on the phone neither Jane nor Henry, they all decide to leave and go to the lake house.

Knowing about the guys’ plans, Dawn calls Charles and asks him to send a text message from Jane’s phone to ease Cassie’s mind; Dawn is also worried that Faye may be the one to find Henry’s body, but Charles comforts her: he hid the body in a way that would make it impossible for the guys to find it and, he says, with the circle out of town they’ll have more time to take care of Jane.

The guys can’t find anyone in the lake house, but they’re able to get inside nonetheless. In the living room, Cassie finds Jane’s scarf, but right after that she receives a text message from her grandmother saying that she’s okay and spending time with a friend, so she rests a bit easier. There’s a storm outside, so the guys decide to spend the night in Henry’s house.

In the beginning, Faye believes to be hearing a little girl calling for help, and after that she also sees tiny footprints and, following them, she finds a pair of little red boots she recognizes, but in a flash everything vanishes.

Charles drugges Jane heavily to be sure she stays unconscious for many hours, and then he goes to see Dawn and tells her he has found a new crystal: now all they need is the right spell and they’ll be able to erase Jane’s memory.

While she’s taking a bath, Faye suddenly finds herself immersed in slimy seaweeds. She screams but when the others arrive everything’s disappeared. She strongly suspects that what’s happening to her is Cassie’s plan to have Faye disgraced in Jake’s eyes.

At the Circle’s house, Charles and Dawn find lots of books, ingredients and accessories used by the members of the circle to learn how to do magic, and they find themselves reminiscing about the times when they actually had fun doing magic, too; those were the times before Blackwell arrived. Charles uses the crystal he has to find the Book of Shadows hidden by Diana in the house and, once he has it in is hands, he looks for the spell he needs. Dawn tries to convince him to give the crystal to her, but Charles doesn’t budge: he admits he had a difficult time after Nick’s death, but he’s better now and he wants to be in charge of his own decisions.

While playing “Truth or Dare”, Diana dares Cassie to kiss Jake so she can observe Adam’s reaction; Faye gets jealous, throws a fit and leaves the house to go back to Chance Harbor. In front of her car, she sees the little girl again: she’s wearing red boots and a yellow cape, and Faye decides to follow her.

Jake tells Cassie that the secret to be able to perform spells without the circle is to cage one’s own emotions, but he also tells her that not all witches are the same and that true power is given to someone since birth. She kisses him, but he stops her.

In the hut, Diana and Adam have a fight, but he ends up kissing her and the two of them make love.

When she leaves the house, Cassie sees the little girl with the red boots, too, and follows her, but at one point she can’t see her anymore and finds herself in front of Faye who, in shock, tells her she knows the kid and the things she’s wearing: it’s herself as a child when one day, wearing red boots and yellow cape, she went to the lake, fell inside and was about to drown when her grandfather arrived and saved her.

Jane is still drugged and Charles enchants her: he will be able to control her mind from then on.

Faye runs towards the lake but Jake and Adam try to restrain her; Cassie sees the kid again on the pier and walks towards her, but the kid disappears and she feels the need to put her hands inside the water: doing that she makes Henry’s body come to the surface.

Jake tells Cassie that, even after death, a witch’s energy can still be in the air, and he believes it was Henry himself the one who used Faye’s memories to speak with her, but only someone with a very powerful magic could be able to see other’s people’s memories, too.

Diana speaks with Adam and tells him that she doesn’t want to get back together with him, even after what happened in the hut: they need to be apart to understand if they really want to be together.

Jake tells Isaac what happened, and he is convinced that the members of the Circle don’t have to be killed until he’ll have examined the papers that Calvin left for Cassie.

Once home, Cassie tells her grandmother that Henry’s dead. Jane says she never saw the man at the lake house, but she can’t explain why her own scarf was found by Cassie inside the man’s house.
