Julian finds out that Morgan and Marti are investigating Travis's case and gets very angry as they don't have evidence to support their thesis. Besides, even if they had some, the sole aim of the project would be helping hundreds of people, not only a single person. Eventually, the teacher decides that their collaboration to the project is over and they are no longer allowed to meet Travis.
Marti disregards the teacher's order and goes to see Travis. Julian finds her out. Travis wants the girl to look after his case and lets Julian know that he can either agree or be fired. He chooses to leave the case and asks him to find another lawyer.
Marti asks Julian for the permission to leave the class. Even though she is not part of the team anymore – says the teacher – she can attend his classes; she refuses him as a teacher telling him that he doesn't care about people and that he only aims to be successful in his case. She used to consider him an idealist and was eager to attend his classes, but now she thinks he's giving up; for this reason she doesn't want him to be her teacher anymore.
After carefully reconsidering Marti's point of view, Julian changes his mind and lets her know that he has apologised to Travis and that the guys will be following the case. He also confides to her that she helped him remember "who he is" just when he needed it.
