Ok, I can say for sure Gale had on gray and black argyle(sp?) socks...
Perhaps it is just me, Gale did not seem as tall as I thought he would seem...but he is breath taking in person!
Arrived about 3:15 to pick up tickets for the 4 showings. As I understand now, he will not do a Q&A after the 7p show Sat. I will not have to stay around for that one.
Had time to kill, so I killed it at Bloomingdales...LOL
Got on line apr. 4p and watched as the line grew. At about 4:25 the doors opened.
Got a nice front row seat just a tad left of center. Have not watched a movie from the front row for many years... for good reason.
It was great to see this film, and Gale, on the big screen. Larger then life and all that... The more I see this film, the more I like it. Not sure why that is.
When the film ended, a female voice could be heard over a microphone. Not sure what she said, but for a moment I thought the actors would not come to the front. They did, and they sat on the small stage in front of the screen for the Q&A. Did manage to take a couple of photos, but he was really close and I was worried that the flash from me as well as others would bother him. At one point he put his hand in front of his face and kinda sat back a bit because of all the flashes. So, I had my 3 shots and put the camera away, for good.
Sorry, but at the moment I do not recall the Q&A's... I hope we have other reports with more detail. Maybe I will get my act together and remember enough of what was said to post about it.
When the Q&A ended, Gale,Clem Cheung (Graces dad), and I think one of the producers (please correct me if I am wrong) got off the stage to leave. A lady asked Gale if she could take a picture and he said he was "all pictured out" but right after that another lady asked and I guess he said "ok' because she stepped next to Gale and the Lady's hubby/boyfriend/brother/friend took a photo. As I had to wait because I could not get past the people, I found myself standing right next to him, I said "excuse me, would you sign this please?" and held up my FFG DVD that already had Fay's sig. Gale signed it for me, I said thank you and moved on.
When I got to the lobby, I noticed Clem Cheung standing off the the side, so I asked him if he would sign my DVD too, he was really sweet...
They took our tickets for the 7p showing inside the theater so we just walked from the lobby back to the seats. From what I understand, the 7p was sold out...I did meet 4 Lady's from LiveJournal, a couple of them got to see Gale in OD...
7p's Q&A was done standing center stage. Did not take any photos, camera stayed in bag this time...
When Q&A was done, before people got out of there seats, the actors walked out.
On my way out, a girl spilled the contents of her purse... another girl and myself got down on the floor to help her get her items back in her bag. When I got to the door I saw a gaggle of people standing and looking up the block in the direction of 3rd ave. Not sure if they took pictures outside or anything, but they had just started walking when I got to the door. Being that I was heading for the Duane Reade just around the corner on 3rd ave and 58th st., I just scurried across the street heading in the same direction but on the other side of the street. It appeard that a group of females had decided to trail the actors. As Gale and crew reached the corner, they made a left and crossed over to my side of the street not far from me, I could hear the females as they continued to follow, one of them ran past me on 3rd ave with a camera in hand. Don't know what happend after that as I got to my store and stopped in.
So ends my report for now. If I recall anything else I will be sure an post. Will not be going to the show on Sunday, however I will be at the 4:30 showing Sat.
As soon as I get my 3 photos up I will provide a link or whatever...Goodnight and good luck.
