The fellow is stepping behind the camera (sort of) and helping produce a documentary called Scott Walker - 30th Century Man, directed by awesome gay director Stephen Kijak.
Gotta give a shout out to friends at IndieWire.com for clueing us into this bit of info from the just-completely Berlin Film Festival, where Mr. Harold and Mr. Kijak screened the new film.
Scott Walker is the man, and the voice, behind the super-sixties mega hit, “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore.” Mr. Walker dropped out of pop music and went on to create experimental work that is beloved by pop stars from Sting to David Bowie, who was instrumental in getting the film made. (Thanks David B.)
You can watch the trailer on YouTube, but Kijak has also made a pretty good website with info about the film. Just a few minutes reading about this story and it’s no wonder Harold signed on to help out.
Now, we just need to find out when it’s coming to a theater near
you. Oh yeah, it’s going to screen at South
by Southwest in Austin in March. So you Texans can check it out.
No word if Gale Harold will accompany Kijak to Austin, as he did to Berlin.
