That was the actor's response to one of my questions in our exclusive chat, the transcript from which is posted below. As we head into tomorrow night's "Masked," read the following Q&A to see what's next for Diana's duplicitous dad..."

From tvguide.com:

"Witches watch out: Charles Meade's mother is coming to town!

Stepfanie Kramer has signed on for an episode of The Secret Circle, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. The 55-year-old actress ... will portray Kate Meade, the equally complicated and strong mother of Charles (Gale Harold) and grandmother to Diana (Shelley Hennig).

Kate, who will first appear in Episode 11, is described as the kind of woman who can warm you with a smile but freeze you with a single glare, which is unfortunate for Charles, who will get caught in the middle of Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) and Kate's hatred for one another."

From filmthrasher.com's review of episode 6 of TSC, "Wake":

"I have mentioned it before, and I will continue doing so, one of the things that helps The Secret Circle stand out amongst the crowd of adolescent centered fair is its use of multi-generational storyline. Ashley Crow, Natasha Henstridge, and Gale Harold are strong actors, and keeping them as integral parts of the show adds a layer of depth that keeps the show vital.

Charles guilt over Nick’s death is palpable, and Gale Harold plays it to subtle perfection, in his distraction with Dawn, later with Diana unwittingly twisting the knife as she recalled Nick holding on to him when scared, and finally as he called Jake by his brother’s name. The Secret Circle surprised me with this hidden depth from the man who killed Cassie’s mother so cold-bloodedly, but it is a welcome one."

From Jim Halterman's (@jimhalterman) interview with Natasha:

"JH: Nick got killed off last night by the hands of Charles who essentially was doing your work? How long does Dawn’s and Charles’s involvement stay a secret?

NH: We definitely keep that under wraps for awhile. That’s something that is not going to be revealed too quickly to the rest of the gang. That kind of stuff we’re definitely going to keep away from the kids, absolutely. We don’t want to show any involvement and we do our very best to make sure all the collateral damage from our activities gets hidden by whatever means possible and that definitely is something that will play in various ways coming up. We’re doing an episode now that’s pretty interesting because it’s supernaturally stuff that we do to keep things under wraps. We’re definitely having to pull out all the punches to keep things underground."

From givememyremote.com's interview with Andrew Miller:

"There’s gonna be fun stuff coming for the fans. Before I let you go, obviously Charles was responsible for Nick’s death. How is that going to play out and will the kids be kind of wondering whether Nick died of such natural causes in the near future?
AM: Yes, they will be wondering that and how it [impacts] Charles is really significant to his character. Because you know, he and Dawn believe that they’re at the same place with this plan of theirs and what this death will do is kind of shine a light on their relationship and show the tremendous differences between them. He reacts to Nick’s death in a very different way from Dawn and it’s gonna cause a lot of problems between the two of them."

From eonline.com's latest interview with Adam Harrington, thanks to Tierney Bricker (@tbrick2):

"So will Chance Harbor's two hottest dads continue to butt heads?

"I think we will, but I think with something like that, as you saw in the pilot, when Ethan and Charles go head to head it's pretty dramatic so I don't mind that they haven't gone head-to-head because you know things are just simmering," Harrington says. "The more Charles gets kind of diluted with Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) and what they're doing and what they're not, and now they've killed Nick and Ethan is supposed to realize that he has to make a decision as to whether he is going to try and drink himself away or face these things ahead of him. You just know that they're going to go head-to-head again.""

Many thanks to jointhesecretcircle.com we have this wonderful new interview with Gale:

"In Slither, Charles Meade did a very bad thing, drowning our beloved Nick (RIP Nick!) to kill the demon riding his body like a Mazda. We were shocked that Nick died but not surprised Charles did the killing —after all, he did torch Cassie’s mom. But then Diana’s dad shocked us by feeling some serious remorse over killing Nick — isn’t this guy supposed to be super evil?

We decided to ask the man behind the manwitch, Gale Harold! Read on for our exclusive interview about evil, magic, and if he’s on Team Vampire or Team Werewolf!"

Official description for Ep9 of TSC, "Balcoin", thanks to ksitetv.com:

"FAYE STIRS UP TROUBLE FOR CASSIE AND JAKE --- Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) look into her father's side of the family, hoping to discover more about her lineage and why she has powers separate from the Circle. Meanwhile, Adam (Thomas Dekker) becomes protective of Cassie when Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) reveals that Jake might be hiding something dangerous from them. At the same time, Adam's equally concerned when Melissa's (Jessica Parker Kennedy) cousin Holden (guest star Arlen Escarpeta) comes to town and catches Diana's (Shelley Hennig) eye. A power shift forms between Charles (Gale Harold) and Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) that threatens to destroy their plan. Brad Turner directed the episode written by Andrew Miller & Andrea Newman (#109)."

Thanks to Carina MacKenzie (@cadlymack) for posting her latest interview with Andrew Miller and giving us more details on what's to come for Charles:

"We spoke with executive producer Andrew Miller about just what Nick's death means for Charles in particular. Miller tells us that Thursday's upcoming episode gives us some new insight into Charles' character.

"His episode on Thursday is pretty amazing to watch," he says. "Gale, obviously, is such a gifted actor. What's so great about having guys that can play this wide range of emotions is that you just want to give them a ton to do.""

From tvguide.com's interview with Andrew Miller:

"Charles killing Nick seemed to cross a serious line. What will we see for Dawn and Charles' plans moving forward and will anyone figure out they were behind Nick's demise?
Miller: There will be consequences both physically and emotionally to their actions. We'll learn a lot about Charles, in particular, as he moves through this experience. The idea of killing a boy, as he says, it just should never feel right and it's going to impact him in a pretty heavy way. They'll both be forced to reexamine their plans as they move forward with some of the emotional consequences of what they did."

From aoltv.com's interview with Andrew Miller:

"I'm enjoying where you're taking Gale Harold's character; in the pilot he seemed so remorseless over killing Cassie's mother, but it's obvious that Nick's death hit him very hard. Is he going to start questioning his motives and what he's doing with Dawn [Natasha Henstridge]?
He's a complicated guy, Charles Meade [Harold] -- and as we see in the pilot, he's capable of such cold violence. And then one of the things that's so tragic about Nick's death is just seeing how it's almost as painful to him, experiencing that, as it was empowering to murder someone else. He's an interesting guy. But what I like about Charles, and what I love about how Gale plays Charles, is that he's just a father first, and his love for Diana is so strong and so deep. I think that's what hits him so strongly about Nick's death is that, as a parent, it's inescapable. You just cannot compare that kind of experience to your own child, and I think that will haunt him for a long time and will cause problems between him and Dawn as they both react completely differently to Nick's passing."

From insidetv.ew.com's interview with Adam Harrington:

"Now that the show’s writers have gotten a full-season order, Harrington looks forward to them digging more into Ethan’s relationship with Charles (Gale Harold), who, you’ll remember, threatened to drown him in the series premiere if he doesn’t keep his lips sealed about the past. “I looked at Nick’s death, and I thought, okay, no holds barred. There’s some high stakes here. Then it made me think that Charles didn’t kill Ethan in the first episode, but he threatened him pretty severely. I thought, how afraid of someone are you that you have to be so aggressive about warning them? I think maybe Charles is a little afraid of Ethan and what Ethan’s capable of, and it’s probably in Charles’ best interest that Ethan stay the town drunk but just keep his mouth shut.”"

From tvline.com:

"Question: I know that Nick died on The Secret Circle. But it’s a show about magic, so I gotta ask: Is Nick gonna stay dead? –Camilla
Ausiello: As a doornail, Camilla. EP Andrew Miller, meanwhile, reveals that the next few episodes will shed more light on who Charles is and the nature of his relationship with Dawn when they were younger. Furthermore, “It wouldn’t surprise me if Charles has ideas about their relationship that perhaps Dawn isn’t entirely aware of,” he hints. “And that may have to do with things in their past and perhaps his hopes for the future. Their relationship will become increasingly complicated as we move forward.”"

From hollywoodreporter.com's latest interview with Andrew Miller:

"THR: Can Charles and Dawn be redeemed or is the drowning scene a sign of things to come?

Miller: In the next episode in particular and then as we go further, we're going to explore all of our characters dealing with this death, and in very, very different ways. It's a terrible sacrifice to make to get this, but people deal with death all the time and in this world, where the stakes should be so high, we should confront that head on. In episode six, we're going to see people react badly and inappropriately and in ways they shouldn't and in ways that rip your guys out. Part of that exploration was that there's no right way to respond to death because it's such a personal experience.

With Charles and Dawn specifically, they're going to take two very different paths and it will cause one of them to question what they're doing, it will cause the other to question that they're partner in what they are doing. While they have this idea of why they need to execute their plan that they're executing, this puts things into a dark perspective that neither one was expecting.

THR: Will they be pit against each other?

Miller: Because Charles is the one who did the deed, it'll be harder for him to get past it, put it that way. His journey will be very different from Dawn's; it'll mess with him."

From examiner.com, thanks to Danielle Turchiano (@danielletbd):

"So it seems Nick’s presence may still loom large for a while-- and not just with the circle but with those who ultimately caused his demise, as well. Charles (Gale Harold) didn’t just kill him by trying to drown the demon inside him, but he also set all of the events in motion, when you think about it, simply by bringing Cassie to their town. It’s not a fact that will be treated lightly, despite Charles’ seeming sadism when it came to killing Amelia.

“In the next episode, on Thursday [“Wake”], we explore that; we go really deep with it. Not only do the kids have to deal with it, but [Charles] has to deal with the consequences of his actions. Ultimately, he’s a father, and he loves his daughter more than anything in the world, and he’d do anything to protect her, and he understands that kind of loss in a way that only a parent can. It will affect him in ways that are shocking to him and even more shocking to Dawn…The way Charles reacts versus the way Dawn reacts will drastically change them as a team,” Miller previewed."

From eonline.com's Spoiler Chat, and thanks to our very own @My2Cats and @secret_circle! smile

"secret_circle: Secret Circle treats?
Prepare to meet more of the Elders (R.I.P. Faye's Grandpa)! "The Elders will come around sooner than we think. We love the idea of the Elders because at some point Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) and Charles (Gale Harold) have to answer to somebody and those somebodies are the Elders," executive producer Andrew Miller tells us. "You can't have a town with dead bodies piling up before somebody takes notice. In our case, the people who are going to take notice first are the Elders."

My2cats: The Secret Circle, Charles killing Nick...how does that action change him and his relationship with Dawn?
Nick's (Louis Hunter) death will change just about everything for our (possibly) diabolical duo, trust. "As we go forward, the idea of consequences is there not only for the kids, but for the adults as well," Miller says. "The ramifications of their actions will be huge for [Charles and Dawn] emotionally, because it really puts their own plans into a completely different light and will cause them to question what they're doing and they may think differently from one another and that will cause a lot of problems.""

Many thanks to Mandi Bierly (@EWMandiBierly) from EW.com, we have this wonderful new interview with Gale:

"With a full season pickup, the stars of The Secret Circle, The CW’s increasingly spooky multigenerational witch drama from Kevin Williamson and Andrew Miller, will have to get used to having a vague, but interesting, conversation about the show’s central mystery: What evil came to the town of Chance Harbor 16 years ago and caused a body count? If it was drawn by the power of a secret circle of young witches, does that mean two parents (Gale Harold and Natasha Henstridge), who’ve schemed to get their children to form a new circle, know what danger they’re putting them in? Why is it worth it to them? Do they simply want to get back the power they themselves were stripped of, or is it something different? Luckily, Harold, who plays the deliciously devilish Charles Meade, has already mastered that art."
