Our dear friend Pia attended the convention T3: Rise of the Nerds in UK this past weekend. The con was for Chuck and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Among the guest was Thomas Dekker who, as you all know, will play one of the main characters in the upcoming TV show, “The Secret Circle.” Pia asked Thomas a few questions about the show and about Gale, and she was so sweet to give us permission to post part of her report about it. Please, if you repost part or all of it, be sure to give her full credit. Thank you. And thank you so much to Pia!!
You can read it HERE:
June 24th/25th 2011
The opening ceremony was followed by a meet & greet for the Gold Pass holders. I was lucky to have an empty chair beside me when Thomas came to our table so he sat beside me. Some of what was being talked has completely escaped me. Thomas did ask us where we were from and when I told him I was from Finland. What I do remember is that he told us the basic idea behind the series. He also said that he's really excited about The Secret Circle and that they begin filming in a few weeks. There was some talk about the pilot and how it had already been picked up. When I said I had seen the six minute preview and how I had liked what I had seen, he said that he felt the pilot was more cheesy than what the pilot is really like. I think that sounded really promising.

A new article by theTVaddict entitled "FALL TV Preview ‘11: THE SECRET CIRCLE" makes a wonderful mention of Gale:
"...the show features some incredibly exciting adult characters, most notably QUEER AS FOLK’s Gale Harold FTW!, who will surely play a far more integral role in the show than your typical CW parent..."
We certainly hope so, and we can't wait to see Gale in this role!

Just a small update - Lynn Carey Saylor (
@LynnCareySaylor), who wrote the track "Blackened Pearl" that will feature in the opening sequence of "Rehab" tweeted this evening:
"...hear "Rehab" release 6/23. Hope it's true. If so, will release my song from film!"
This is the same release date that has been listed on IMDb for a long time. The IMDb page for the film, last updated in April, is
HERE.
Of course relase dates change, so we'll have to wait and see what happens, but we hope this is true and we hope to hear more about it soon :)

"For the Gale fans: he's sexy and oh so very creepy -- he'll make an excellent villain."
When asked about Gale's role in The Secret Circle, @tbrick2 answered:
"He will definitely be on screen often. He's scary, but also very calm, which makes it even creepier. Sharp dresser. Need more?"

We've made a transcript of Scott's comments about the possible QAF Convention next year in Germany:
(Please give us credit for transcribing if you re-post. Thanks!)
Scott Lowell on "The Sheena Metal Experience", Tuesday, June 7, 2011
“We're working with a woman in Germany right now and hoping to put together the first entire-cast Queer As Folk convention in Cologne next year, and hopefully get everyone from across Europe... hopefully would be able to come to Cologne and come to this convention. We'll see if it happens or not, but we've all talked about it... everyone in the cast, and everyone's excited about the prospect of that, you know, for us to all be in some place together and also to see, you know, the European fans especially. We haven't really met too many of them, but their enthusiasm has been overwhelming and so strong, so it's wonderful!”

We have three more tiny reports:
Report by Dharary75, Sunday June 5th 2011
I just saw the 2:00pm performance today and all I can say is there are some really talented play-writes out there and some very talented actors. My favorite play I think was Lockdown. Very intense, good message behind it, and great acting. The play Gale was in definitely required some imagination from the young play write, very interesting, lots of themes and symbolism in it. I didn't stay to talk to Gale, even though it seemed almost the whole audience went up on stage to talk to the actors. But if I had, I would have told him well done. I think there are some real stand out actors that I look forward to see more of their work in the future. I will say the girl who wrote the last play seemed a bit nervous up there and I saw Gale put his arm around her and whisper something to her, which was sweet.
StellaDallas posted a full review of Gale's play at the "Young Playwrights Festival" on IMDB. Read it

Hello everyone! It's online the article that buddytv posted recently about "The Secret Circle"... it looks like the chances of Gale's role being a substantial one are good. The adult characters on the show will hopefully be given more importance than it happens in "The Vampire Diaries." We'll see... I'll believe it when I see it!
I’d like to remind you that the show will be aired every Thursday at 9pm on CW, immediately after Vampire Diaries. Click

(For the first report..please give credit to us...! Thank you!)
Report by Laura, Friday June 3rd 2011
The three plays presented the night I went (Friday, June 3, 2011) were amazing. Very well written by 3 very talented teens who have an incredible understanding of the human psyche and an insight into human behavior. I would suggest that anyone wanting to see amazing plays with well known actors you have to go at least once.
I have been tempted to go for a while, and I did eventually end up going because of Gale performing in one play. He was not the main character, but a very important character. His acting is so intense…
yet he can be so gentle and shy. I had the honor of meeting him, getting his autograph and picture afterwards. Once the play is over most of the actors come out into the audience to mingle. It’s a very
small theater, maybe 100 seats, if that, and you are literally feet away from the stage (which is only a couple inches off the floor). If you sit in front you could touch the actors.
Not only was I surprised by the caliber of the plays and all the actors, but I was even more surprised when a few “friends” showed up to cheer Gale on. None other than Randy Harrison, Peter Paige, Scott
Lowell and Michelle Clunie were all there to support, not only Gale, but the cause. With as large as the entertainment industry is, theater must be small enough, because Peter knew a few people there (clearly
locals) and Randy knew the director and a couple people as well. It was not only an honor and very exciting to meet and see Gale in person (such an amazing person and actor), but to talk to and meet four of the best actors of QAF, including Randy… I have never had a funner, more exciting, more enjoyable time at any play.
Here’s a pic of Gale in costume on stage (along with a pic I took of him, I left me out of it, cause no
one’s gonna look at the picture for me, are they?). The pic of Gale in costume is with the cast of the play and the girl holding the frame is the playwright.

"All three of the plays that were presented were very well written. The young writers expressed depth beyond their years. The one Gale acted in was last and was the longest. As Verybookish reported, Gale looked gorgeous and sounded great. I loved the way he said the Russian words. It was a thrill as always seeing Gale perform a few feet away.
He wasn't on stage the whole time. He was an important characater but not the central one.. In typical Gale fashion, he did not want to take the spotlight from those that the night was really about. Once the cast took their bows and the writers received their awards, he didn't stay around too long. He may have come back out later. I don't know because we - me and the two people I attended with - decided that as much as we love Gale, the night wasn't about him. I think it's so wonderful that he is participating in so many of these ventures supporting local theater and celebrating new talent. I had a wonderful evening doing something I probably never would have done if not for Gale being a part of it."
Thank you Katia and Lory!

"Gale's character was "Mister Papers," and he looked gorgeous and sounded great. He was wearing a brown suit, and glasses, and he had a little scruff, and it was completely fantastic to see him acting, in this tiny theater, just five feet away from where we were sitting."
